The Power Rangers video game you’ve been waiting for is here!
That’s the catch phrase for game studio nWay‘s brand new venture – Power Rangers Battle for the Grid – releasing in April of 2019 for Playstation 4, X-Box One, Nintendo Switch, and later on PC and Steam. Fans of the Power Rangers franchise have been waiting 26 years for a fighting game that does the brand justice – and nWay is hoping to deliver that to you with Power Rangers Battle for the Grid. Featuring 15 playable characters at launch, players will take some of the most iconic Power Rangers in to battle in an arcade styled story mode, with a friend at home, or with their friends online. Even better is the cross platform functionality of the game – the ability to play it on your Playstation 4 and then log in on your Nintendo Switch for portable play, all on the same account.
Details are still limited and more information will come to pass in the coming weeks. nWay is known for the incredibly popular and successful mobile Power Rangers game, Power Rangers Legacy Wars, and have stated that while this game shares visuals from said mobile game, that is where the similarities end. In short – this is NOT a port of the mobile game on to console games. Each Power Ranger will have their own moves, their own skill sets, but also incorporate nWay‘s design in the sense that winning is based on when to strike your opponent, not how (but not in a rock, paper, scissors format of the mobile game).
Currently three characters have been revealed – the Mighty Morphin Green Ranger, the Mighty Morphin Pink Ranger, and the popular new villain from 2018’s “Shattered Grid” comic book event, Lord Drakkon.
Power Rangers Battle for the Grid is a digital release coming in April of 2019. You can pre-order the game for your system of choice by visiting BattlefortheGrid.com. You can choose either the standard $19.99 digital release, or the collector’s edition for $39.99 which features extra content such as an art book and a Lord Drakkon Evo II skin and Ranger Slayer skin for the Lord Drakkon and Mighty Morphin Pink Ranger characters respectively. All pre-orders will receive the Green Ranger V2 skin for the Mighty Morphin Green Ranger character.

Power Ranger: Battle for the Grid is an easy to learn but hard to master fighting game that delivers a modern take on the Power Rangers franchise. The game features stunning graphics with vivid details and pits new and classic Rangers and villains against each other in team battles.
