Kimberly and the others are prisoners of Goldar and Verto! And even if they escape they still have the Typhonis Megazord to deal with! How will our heroes break free of their prison and save the day?
SYNOPSIS
Kimberly, Zack, and Trini – along with the help of Serge and his sister – manage to escape the prison cell. Kimberly goes back to get the Sword of Light and the trio morph back in to Power Rangers. Angry that they failed, Goldar chastises Verto and flies off to take the Typhonis Megazord to conquer the Earth. However, Verto has prepared for Goldar to betray him and can control the Megazord on his own. Kimberly’s mom, now a sea monster, joins in the fight against Goldar and all three end up stuck in the Typhonis Megazord as it begins to sink to the bottom of the ocean with Kimberly, Goldar, and Kim’s mom stuck inside.
STAFF REVIEW
Here it is made a little more clear that Goldar is doing this to replace Rita and Lord Zedd, not to impress them. Again these ambitions seem a little much for someone who, at this point, was becoming the comedy schtick of the series. We do get a nice nod that the powers are not as strong as they were before as Kimberly is unable to leap high enough in the air to go where she needs to go. The artwork continues to be great and the story, while reading like an episode of Mighty Morphin Power Rangers, is still enjoyable. It is aided with an inner dialect from Kimberly the entire time which has some good timing with the action.
