The unlikeliest of team-ups may just be required to save the world from a new terror.
SYNOPSIS
The new Power Rangers and Goldar successfully defeat Verto using cunning and skill – including using Typhonis’ mechanics of summoning back his individual zords for repairs to get inside Typhonis to defeat him. Goldar honors the deal he made and Verto turns all of the sea creatures back in to humans. He and Goldar hatch a new plan – allow Verto to become a lieutenant in Rita and Zedd’s army and everything is forgotten.
Except Goldar keeps his promises – and he kills Verto. As Kimberly goes to look for Trini and Zack she finds them making out in the alley. The two are, and have been, a couple for some time it turns out. Serge and Britt appear to ask when they can meet Zordon when they pick up a signal from Tommy. The Power Rangers are safe, for now, but they need Zordon’s help because they’re losing power.
Kimberly asks Alpha-5 how much time Zordon has left and he estimates about 12 hours until he is lost for good. Kimberly asks to be teleported to the Power Rangers’ coordinates with her team to defeat Lord Zedd and Rita Repulsa. Alpha-5 summons Tor and Titanus, the last remaining zords on Earth, to assist in getting Typhonis to space. The Rangers morph and head off to battle.
STAFF REVIEW
The best part about this entire thing was they brought back the Shark Cycles, and then seeing most of them get destroyed by Typhonis. There’s a lot of callbacks to nostalgia here – the Shark Cycles, Tor, and Titanus – and it’s handled well. Knowing the last issue is going to focus on both Power Rangers teams is fun and an exciting twist – and it looks as if Power Rangers Pink will end on a high note after suffering through some dull moments in the first five issues.
