The Rangers go head-to-head with Rita‘s monster, Flog, and finally start to settle into their roles as Earth’s protectors. But all the while, Rita is plotting a new attack that the Rangers will never see coming…because it involves Kim‘s boyfriend, Matthew.

SYNOPSIS

Four months before “Arrival Day”, Kimberly’s parents – Roger and Helen – argue over what type of school Kim should attend after moving to Angel Grove. Kim yells at Zack, who she thinks is the waiter, over being given the wrong type of salad. Zack is only the busboy, but the misunderstanding gets him fired from his job.

In the present, Kim protects Matt as Zack saves them from Flog while Trini and Billy attack with the Blade Blasters. Jason tries to think of a way to leave the group and morph without anyone seeing him. Billy saves Skull from being buried alive. The strange woman offers to take Matt to the hospital for Kim, giving her the chance to finally morph. Flog grows large and heads to the Power Station. Zack has an idea and tells Billy to target a specific section of the power grid, blacking out the section of town Jason is in and giving him the chance to make his escape and morph. With the full power of the Megazord, the rangers defeat Flog.

Jason helps Ernie with the Youth Center’s staffing issues by volunteering the Ranger teens as the new staff. Trini gives her mother a belated birthday gift. Zack questions Zordon about his choice in choosing Jason to be the leader over him after recent events. Kim visits Matt in the hospital, but not all is as it seems…
