It’s homecoming at Angel Grove! But as tensions run high amongst the Rangers, will they be able to band together to stop Rita and make it to the dance on time?
SYNOPSIS
10,000 years ago Rita Repulsa invades the planet of the Pongies with the monster Rammerhead and Squatt. King Bautee and his entire army have been turned to stone thanks to Baboo, the king’s magical adviser and potion maker. Baboo originally wanted to create a potion that would make the army indestructible. Rita is impressed with the loyalty he showed to his former King and shows mercy towards Baboo. In return he becomes HER potion maker.
Continuing from last issue, Billy explains his reasoning to give Matt the Blue Ranger’s powers – he is not as capable a fighter and worries his inexperience can get someone hurt or killed. Jason refuses to accept and accuses Kimberly for planting this idea in Billy’s head. Billy interrupts and explains he was late due to the Promethea interview. Jason says that Zordon picked him, not Matt, and Billy agrees to stay on the team if they still want him.
Violet Arias is in the library studying when she gets an anonymous text about her riddle and to “turn around”. She gets embarrassed when she sees it is Zack and tries to back out of going to the prom. He asks her politely to go to Homecoming with him. On Homecoming Day, Trini and Kimberly get ready at the salon and talk about Jason and Matt acting weird. “Matt”, Zack and Billy try on rental tuxedos. Zack makes up a story which “Matt” remembers. With Zack confirming Matt is a possible impostor, he warns Billy to look out for him.
The real Matthew Cook uses a fork he kept from a previous feeding to escape his restraints. He captures Squatt and demands to be returned to Earth.
The teens enjoy the dance, until the announcement of the Homecoming King and Queen. Bulk disqualifies himself from Homecoming King after Marleau threatens to have the jocks dump paint on his date Hailey. Marleau is announced Homecoming Queen and before Mr. Caplan can read the winner of Homecoming King, the real Matthew Cook stumbles on stage. He explains he was captured by aliens on the moon. The Putty Infiltrator tries to make its escape, but is surrounded by the Power Rangers. Rita orders him to destroy them as the Putty Infiltrator becomes a multiple faced monster…
