This evening nWay Games announced via the @Battle4theGrid Twitter account the release for the upcoming console fighting game “Power Rangers Battle for the Grid“.
Nintendo Switch – March 26th
X-Box One – March 26th
PlayStation 4 – March 28th (Europe)
PlayStation 4 – April 2nd (USA)
PC – Summer 2019
Power Rangers Battle for the Grid features both an arcade style story mode as well as online play, with cross platform matches possible (excluding PlayStation 4). The story mode follows a new story featuring Lord Drakkon from the BOOM! Studios Shattered Grid event in 2018. You can pre-order the game and receive all the Season One pass perks and pre-order bonuses by clicking here. The playable characters revealed at the time of this writing are:
- Mighty Morphin Red Ranger
- Mighty Morphin Green Ranger
- Goldar (from Mighty Morphin Power Rangers)
- Lord Drakkon (from BOOM! Studios Mighty Morphin Power Rangers comic book)
- Ranger Slayer (from BOOM! Studios Mighty Morphin Power Rangers comic book)
- Mastadon Sentry (from BOOM! Studios Mighty Morphin Power Rangers comic book)
- Magna Defender (from Power Rangers Lost Galaxy)
- Kat Ranger (from Power Rangers S.P.D.)
- Super Megaforce Yellow Ranger
Additional characters may still be revealed both as release characters or as downloadable content in the future. In addition ther are different “skins” you can unlock for the existing roster. They are as follows:
- Mighty Morphin Green Ranger v2.0 (pre-order bonus)
- Lord Drakkon Evo II (pre-order bonus)
- Mighty Morphin Pink Ranger (pre-order bonus)
- Mighty Morphin Red Ranger with Dragon Shield (Season One pass exclusive)
Two additional characters have been data-mined through the BattleFortheGrid.com website. There is no official announcement for these characters so treat these as speculation for the time being. The popular theory consists of these characters being the first downloadable content available for the game which would become available for those who purchase a deluxe edition with the Season One pass. Again – we cannot confirm at this time.
- Zeo Gold Ranger
- Mystic Force White Ranger
Power Rangers Battle for the Grid releases starting Tuesday, March 26th for Nintendo Switch and X-Box One owners with PlayStation 4 users soon after. No concrete release date has been given for the PC version as of yet (via Steam) but it will be available Summer 2019 (May/June/July).
