The world is on lockdown. The Dinozords, now under the Black Dragon’s control, are stationed around the globe invoking Rita’s word as law. With the Rangers left powerless, Rita calls upon Tommy to make the ultimate sacrifice or risk Angel Grove’s survival.
SYNOPSIS
The Green Ranger and Black Dragon battle it out on the moon. Just as it seems the Green Ranger has the upper hand, the Black Dragon manages to turn the tide over and over, at one point nearly smashing the Green Ranger’s helmet to pieces. However, Jason and the Dragonzord are able to rescue him and they choose to retreat – they will have to find a way to get Billy back. Back on Earth, Alpha-5 has reactivated though his power source is limited. Alpha explains that the Black Dragon used a special blast to cut the Ranger’s off from their powers using the Triceratops Power Coin and the reason Tommy still has his powers is because the Dragon Power Coin accesses the morphing grid in a different way. With the severed arm of the Black Dragon, Tommy suggests using the same blast but through his morpher to the other Rangers to give them his own powers. The experiment is a success … as the Power Rangers are back, but this time, in all green.
STAFF REVIEW
The Black Dragon seems to be holding back from finishing off Tommy and it is called in to question by Rita in this issue – which usually means that it will play a part in the story moving forward, so that is something to watch. Seeing new versions of our classic heroes – even if it’s just in green – is really cool and screams for new toys. Still, the Black Dragon seems like an unsurmountable foe and it is fun to see the Power Rangers struggle so much against a foe that seems to know everything about them. More edge of your seat action in store, we’re sure!
