While Tommy and Jason face off against Black Dragon on the Moon, the rest of the Rangers seek a means to jump-start their powers and save their Zords from his influence! With Billy’s life on the line, will the Rangers overcome their greatest challenge or find defeat in the claws of this familiar foe?

SYNOPSIS

The Black Dragon has control of the Power Rangers’ zords and is about to unleash an attack on major cities throughout the world when the Power Rangers arrive to take back their zords and start a showdown.  Even Tommy, now powerless but with the Dragon Dagger, shows up with the Dragonzord in hand.  Goldar and Billy, in the Dark Dimension, discover that the Black Dragon has a “hatch”, like for a pilot, under its neck.  A truce is formed and Goldar releases Billy from the Dark Dimension to defeat the Black Dragon to allow Goldar a chance at redemption with Rita Repulsa.  As Billy arrives back on Earth, he and Tommy break in to the Black Dragon and destroy its power source, causing it to begin shrinking.  As the Power Rangers dig through the wreckage looking for Tommy and Billy, Rita scolds the Black Dragon who states that the Black Dragon itself was just a vessel.  We then see a new Power Ranger – part White Ranger part Green Ranger with a red visor sitting atop a throne – stating he knows where Tommy and Billy are – his plane of existence.  Tommy and Billy awake to find themselves on the beach, in front of ruined buildings, and a giant statue of Rita Repulsa and the Green Ranger.

Payoff has never felt so good.  The Black Dragon is revealed to simply be a vessel for an evil new Power Ranger in a world that, apparently, is controlled by Rita Repulsa and the Green Ranger.  And now we get to explore this new world and this new Power Ranger.  This is the first really big deviation from what we’ve known as the Mighty Morphin Power Rangers for over 20 years and it’s exciting to see all new stories, all new characters, and have no idea where it is going.  This is a brand new chapter for the brand and you need to be on this incredible ride!
