The remaining Power Rangers storm the Command Center in hopes of taking back their home from Rita and her forces. But is it already too late for Zordon and Alpha 5?
Tommy and Billy are escorted by the Coinless operatives (Aisha, Bulk) to the leader of the Coinless – Zack. A quick interrogation of Saba causes Zack to believe Tommy and Billy are from another dimension, and the group enters the secret hideout of the Coinless, featuring a tent city of survivors and refugees of Lord Drakkon’s rule. Trini is cold to Billy and we learn that it is because she is having a tough time dealing with his arrival due to the fact that their world’s Billy died the night of a great battle saving her life. Lord Drakkon prepares his forces to invade the Coinless, which allows Skull (a double agent in Drakkon’s forces) to pass along a message but it’s too late – the Coinless are under attack by Lord Drakkon and his army of Ranger Sentries.
In the normal universe, the Power Rangers are contacted by Alpha-5 with a plan to retake the Command Center and retrieve Billy’s power coin. At the same time, Rita Repulsa has created an army of clone Goldars and we learn that Alpha-5 has been reprogrammed by Finster, and the Power Rangers are about to walk in to a trap.
One of my favorite pieces of this issue is how dark and drab the universe of Lord Drakkon looks in comparison to the world we know our Power Rangers as part of. The story is top-notch as always and each page is a thrilling read from start to finish as always. This is the Power Rangers story that older fans have been waiting years or decades for.
