The next Power Rangers epic starts here! The Power Rangers are finally reunited, but can things ever be the same?
SYNOPSIS
The Power Rangers are getting “back to normal” after the events of Lord Drakkon and the alternate dimension – however normal is hardly “normal” as we know it. Rita Repulsa has gone missing in action and the Power Rangers have turned their attention to two things – helping save the people of Earth from natural disasters and to continue working to get Zordon back. Kim and Trini head to a distant planet to recover Zordon’s staff – Saba has remained with them and believes a physical tether to Zordon will help bring him back to our dimension – while the others work to keep the civilians safe from a dangerous thunderstorm.
We are introduced to an older woman by the name of Grace Sterling. She is head of something called “Promethea” which strives to make the world a better place from outside threats like Rita Repulsa.
Jason is dedicated – too dedicated – to keeping an eye on the viewing globe at all times for the next threat to arise. The other Rangers try to get back to their lives only to discover just how hard a normal life can be. As the Power Rangers save the city of Dubai, Grace Sterling interrupts their celebration – telling them their downtime is now over.
STAFF REVIEW
This issue helps set up the next storyline – something with Grace Sterling and Promethea – and thus moves a little slower and doesn’t have those climactic page turners like we had during the Lord Drakkon arch. What is nice is that the events from Lord Drakkon are still prevalent and Kyle Higgins continues to sew mysteries without diving too much in to them – where is Rita Repulsa? Why did a missing plane get mentioned with no followup in the issue? Who is Grace Sterling and how does she know anything about the Power Rangers? A decent issue that flows well but isn’t an epic page turner like before.
