The secret history of the true original Power Rangers divides the Mighty Morphin team, and only Zordon can save them!
SYNOPSIS
After learning of a previous team of Power Rangers – most of whom are dead – some of the Power Rangers are on edge and are angry that Zordon didn’t tell them about what had happened. Zack is especially frustrated because Zordon also kept the Green Ranger powers secret from the team (when he was offered them in a previous issue flashback) and now the 1969 Power Rangers as well.
Grace convinces the team to go to Promethea which is actually Terra Venture from Power Rangers Lost Galaxy – just not a spaceship. Grace has captured an individual named Tony and tells his story before he turns in to a nine-headed cat monster. She explains that they’ve developed a way to track the energy signature these human-monsters give off before they turn in to monsters, allowing a chance to be proactive in stopping them. However, Mr. Meowgi (we love you Kyle Higgins) has nine lives (because he’s a cat, with nine heads, and cats have nine lives) and breaks free. The Power Rangers easily take him down.
Grace and Jason begin to have an argument about how proactive Promethea is becoming – Jason says that was a battle that they escalated – when Alpha-5 interrupts.
Zordon has returned.
STAFF REVIEW
So many little hints in this issue! Billy was offered an internship at Promethea – will that come back in to play later? Promethea has built its own Mechazord (Mecha and Zord because it’s not connected to the Morphin Grid like the Megazords and Zords) and now we have Zordon – who has witnessed everything from Lord Drakkon’s time (and possibly more) back in the action. How will he respond to Grace Sterling and how will the Power Rangers respond to his secrets? The page turners return and the action is fast and the pace is great. These are the types of stories that make Mighty Morphin Power Rangers such a successful comic series.
