After the shocking events of the last issue, Lord Drakkon‘s victory seems assured—unless the Rangers can find a way to team up with another team of Power Rangers they’ve never met before!
SYNOPSIS
Lord Drakkon has returned to his home dimension where we are given a rather somber moment where Lord Drakkon and Finster-5, the evil cyborg-like cross of Alpha-5 and Finster, share a heartfelt hug. It is then that Lord Drakkon shows that he has captured Ninjor and informs Finster-5 it is time for them to begin their master plan.
Back in the regular dimension the Power Rangers are attending the funeral for Tommy. Billy chokes up speaking about the last few days and we are treated to a flashback of the immediate aftermath of Issue 25. Tommy’s body lay in a tube as energy washes over him and the other Rangers discuss what happened and whether Tommy is really gone or not. It is then that Zordon announces that Tommy Oliver is dead. The Rangers speak of having to give his mother closure, even if it means putting the body back in the alley, and we get a day-by-day panel montage of how the Power Rangers are coping with the loss of their sixth Ranger. Jason is shown taking the Dragon Shield while all the students at school are sulking. Back to the funeral, Jason is unable to finish his eulogy and is embraced by Zack afterwards. Alpha-5 contacts the Rangers to let them know the mysterious woman (Jen Scotts the Time Force Pink Ranger) is awake.
Jen explains to the Rangers that she is from the future and how she arrived back in this time. She also shows a diagram trying to explain how the Morphin Grid is fractured from Tommy’s death, as he was not supposed to die, and that time no longer moves forwards and backwards but in every direction – meaning events that happened 20 years later can, theoretically, be accessed right now without actually moving forward in time. She states that whatever massive, powerful being she saw in the future matches the same energy as Lord Drakkon and that they have to stop him at all costs.
Across time, the Power Rangers Samurai team is training when Lord Drakkon and his forces blown down the gate to the Shiba house, and then attack the Shiba house directly. The Power Rangers Samurai jump in to action but are easily defeated by the Black Dragon Canons, and Lauren is separated from the other Rangers (who are de-morphed and have their morphers taken from them). At that moment, Alpha-5 announces that Lord Drakkon’s energy has been detected and they are now able to teleport directly to the place and time where he is attacking. Without hesitation the Mighty Morphin Power Rangers jump in to battle.
Rather than lead a charge they decide to look for the one Samurai Ranger who is separated from the others. They find Lauren and are able to rescue her and teleport away before they can be captured. Lord Drakkon is back at his lab with Finster-5 who energizes Lord Drakkon with one of the Samurai morphers giving him a brand new form. They observe a hologram of a large tower-like device and mention how much they have left to conquer.
